425, 525 or Both?

Burning question right now for me without a finalised decision or direction.

There’s currently a split between the two frequencies and where I am (Deep Cove) there is repeaters on both with a split of different users.

Do I go all in on one frequency or setup a new repeater for the other frequency and get a second companion?

Deep Cove is a high tourist area with trails and Quarry Rock and I would like to provide optimal coverage for general use, with emergency fall back as cell coverage is limited with Rogers and Freedom only having one tower locally and power issues are common here too.

I think you know my answer.

But really if having both and communication across the area is what is important to you then as much as the otherntram is going to hate it, a bridge node makes the most sense.

I had no plans to bridge anything in all honesty. I don’t see the advantage of doing so!

I’m more in the mindset of if I have to dip toes in both I’ll add to the infrastructure if that makes sense?

It doesn’t because then you just have two parallel segregated mesh networks.

I don’t think the larger mesh is moving to 525 and any visitors to Deep Cove will likely be using 525.
