The community/governance challenge!

So in Thoughts: Canadian Regions Strategy - #54 by anarcat I pointed out that it seems we have a process problem here.

It looks like this forum has been largely ignored or neglected by MeshCore Canada decision makers. The whole regions strategy discussion was supposedly taking place on that forum thread, yet an entire “standard” was published weeks ago without being announced, let alone discussed, in the said thread.

Mysteriously, the notice on the website even says:

Strategy discussion and feedback:

https://forum.meshcore.ca/t/thoughts-canadian-regions-strategy/54

There’s even a link from the website (the Share feedback link) directly on the thread, specifically to a comment I made on the thread saying I’m going on a vacation which is frankly just bizarre at this point.

So there doesn’t seem to be any real conversation about how that standard was established or published; those discussions have happened entirely elsewhere, I presume Discord.

So I get it: a lot of people are on Discord and everything. But if you’re going to say “The forum is where discussions happen”, walk the talk and do that, don’t do it on the side. Or just say “Discord is where it happens”, so people know they need to go there to get involved.

Thanks.
